2014/15 charity events

Where it was fished, who turned out, and which causes the money went to.

Update Monday 18th Aug 2014

Well what a weekend! 32 competitors who all gave up their weekend to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Trust.

I am pleased to report that the weather was kind to us and the fishing was very good for some, but hard for others. The winner caught over 80lb of carp so many congratulations to Dave Gouge. Nev caught a couple of monster perch, one being over 2lb which was a big surprise to everyone. The water continues to supply excellent sport for all.

The competition has gone from strength to strength each year with the numbers attending increasing each year.

This was my last year and it was special to go out on such a great event.

I would like to thank everyone for turning up and especially the helpers who marshalled the event, who worked tirelessly all day and night.

Also special thanks to Jo who worked hard on the barbecue and supplied an excellent service supplying fish and chips in the evening.

Once again, many thanks to all for such a great weekend. You are all very special people to me and it still gives me a lump in my throat when you devote the weekend to charity, win a bit of money on the way but then turn round and hand it to me to donate back to the charity. It amazes me how generous you can all be and I am proud to know you all. Thank you all.
